Getting close

Well this week has by far been my favorite week!! They did the landscaping and fence! Two huge milestones. I have been waiting on a fence since the day we moved in here. I did like the openness of our backyard, but now it is privacy! In love. I can go out back in my pajamas and not worry about the neighbors seeing me. They have to finish up putting mulch down over all of the flower beds this week, sod the yard, finish the fence and gates and there are a few things left to do in the pool house. They are saying maybe the end of the week we might have W A T E R in the pool! EEEKKKKK!!!

TREES!!

Finished the stone work around our patio.

Slurried the retaining wall.

Behind the hot tub, stepping stones to the waterfall.

Starting the fence.

Flowers.

Is that a fence I see??

Working hard.

The landscaping by the side of our house.

Just beautiful. I think I love the landscaping so much because of our house being brand new we did not have any trees.

Looking good.

Ahhhh, privacy!

Almost done.

Our garden's farewell....

Our garden has had a ruff year for sure. When Jonathan tilled up the ground it took him almost three hours because the ground was so hard and new sod. We were able to tend to it and really take care of it at first, then when the pool project started the garden unfortunately got put on the back burner. The workers trampled some of the garden and killed all of our peas, after complaining they put up a fence and that seemed to help a little. Yesterday they had to tear our garden down. It was very sad but was in the way of where they were working. It got neglected because our focus has been on the pool and other projects, and it just was not our year I guess. However, we were able to pick a few ears of corn off and some black eyed peas. Skylar thought it was the coolest thing eating food grown from her and Jonathan's garden. I thought it was pretty amazing and very rewarding too. Next year we plan on having a much smaller garden and maybe even some raised beds since our grass and ground are so new.

Our first ear of corn!!!

All we got but were happy with.

Skylar and her best friend LOVED the fresh corn! YUMMY!

Bye bye garden. :( See ya next year.

Pool deck and slurry

This week has been kind of successful. After they did the pool deck not a lot of major changes have happened. They are doing the irrigation this week and installing the pool equipment. They are also doing all of the electric work in the pool house and starting the trim work. Next week they will start landscaping and hopefully working on the fence. A couple more weeks. I am very ready for this to be done. The construction workers do not care at all about our stuff or house. They have cracked three big spaces in our sidewalk, trampled our garden, got concrete over the back of the house that will need to be fixed, use my patio furniture like it is there own and threw our rug for the back door into the pool with crap all over it. Very frustrating process, oh and our utility bill went up $100 because they use our power for everything instead of getting a generator. In the home stretch and soon they will all be gone.
Pouring the concrete.

The finishing touch to the concrete.

Steps and concrete.

The retaining wall.

Coming together.

The stone in between the concrete.

The finished waterfall.

Starting the slurry.
Before brick and in the process of doing the slurry.

All finished, turned out great and matches the house perfect.

Making progress.

Fourth of July Fun

This week Jonathan, Skylar and I went to Heber Springs with some friends. We had such a great time! Being on the lake is so wonderful and made me realize how long it has been since we have been on the water. Skylar is at such a fun age for the lake too, she was jumping off the rocks, tubing, jumping off the boat! We also meet up with Miss Sophie and her family for a quick swim together. Sky thought that was sssoo cool her best friend was there too. Last night we watched the firework show from the lake, it was AWESOME! We tied up with two other boats around 6:00 and just hung out and let the kids swim, then the show started around 9:00. We were right up front where they were shooting them from. It was probably the coolest thing ever watching them from a boat with a hundred other boats all tuned in to the radio station. And it was a really great firework show. We might have to make that an every year thing now. I am hooked. Hope you all had a great Fourth of July.

Skylar and Kade. Our little water babies.
