Sewing again

I started sewing again today. In high school I took Home Economics and loved it. I made a few things and even bought a sewing machine when I graduated. My needle broke on my machine and instead of replacing it I just put it in the attic and quit sewing. Yes I know, I am lazy sometimes. I have been inspired by a friend recently to start making Skylar some clothes. I went ahead and bought a newer machine today and a cute little outfit pattern for Sky. I came home and was so excited to start my new project until I opened the pattern packet. Can I say overwhelming? I could not really figure it out or where to cut. I spoke with a few of my friends and they both said throw those packet patterns in the trash because they are complicated. They both suggested to go online and look for a pattern PDF file. So I bought one and printed it. Will try tomorrow with the new pattern. It looks easier and had step by step instructions, all 32 pages. I was excited that I remembered how to spool the thread and thread the needle. Here is to a hopeful tomorrow.

Still got it I think.

The Shaggy Dog Capture

So for the past 3 days there has been this cute little shaggy dog roaming around the neighborhood. At first I was like awe, poor thing is missing from someones  home. I assumed he would find his way back home until I saw him again yesterday. Since Daisy is in heat I am sure we are the happening house and he wants to come in and make sweet love to our Pomeranian. I was thinking if we had a fence I would keep him and feed him and hang up posters until someone claimed him. Well that plan did not work since we do not have a fence. Sooo, we woke up this morning and I was sure the dog would be long gone. Umm no, he was sitting at my back door. So I thought about feeding him because surely he was hungry since he has been roaming for days. I thought to myself after we get back from the store I will feed him. I start backing out of the garage and find him digging a hole in our flower bed! UMMM no sir! Our bond ended there. Came home from the store to find him sitting in the front yard. So after my little yappy PMSing dog will not hush up because she knows there is another dog in our yard I decide to call the pound. They knew exactly what dog I was talking about. Apparently other neighbors have called as well. I told the dispatcher I would put him on a leash until they arrived and of course she was making sure I was okay with that especially if he was vicious. So, Skylar and I headed out to plant a trap in Skylar's little playhouse. Put some food and water in there for him, meanwhile Daisy is going absolutely NUTS inside the house. Annoying to say the least. So I put a leash on him and just hang outside with him until the pound shows up. Which was probably 5 minutes from the time I called. I was very impressed. The dog went up to the animal control people but once the lady picked him up he went a little crazy and jumped down growling and showing his teeth. I told Sky to step back from the dog. He liked me I guess because he came back to me, I guess he thought we were still bonding. They put their leash on the dog and tried again to cover him with a blanket and pick him up. He did the same thing with the man and jumped down and the dog got out of their leash. So, the dog comes back to me again and I calmly put the leash on the dog then the animal control guy puts his leash on the dog. I suggested I try to pick him up since he likes me. They were like well if you want and you are okay with that. So I cover him with the mans jacket and throw him in the pin in the back of the truck. I think I found my calling. He did start growling and squirming but I did not let go. Probably the determination in me. So no more digging my flower bed up for Shaggy dog. Here are some pics from our journey.

Awe, cute Shaggy at the back door

GGRRR!
Busted SHAGGY!

He got in a little trouble and was told to go away.

And guess who is still at our house.

Caught ya!
Waiting on the pound.

Thank you Hernando Animal Control for being so quick to the scene! Great teamwork has had by all.

Thankful

Today has been such a wonderful day! Got to spend some good quality time with my sister which we haven't done in a while because of my work schedule. Had a nice lunch and good ole shopping trip at Walmart. Crystal says as we are walking in the store, "Do we need a basket?" I replied, " Oh no no. You know you always spend more with a basket!" After we cruise the makeup aisle then the toy aisle then I slip off into the lawn and garden aisle then suddenly holler across the store, "Crystal!! Go get a basket!" Laughing while writing this. I had a little spring fever and found a few fun yard decorations.

We then went to Skylar's ballet and of course her pose was there. We had some good ole family time! Love my parents and sister more than anything. I truly am so lucky to have my sister and parents and all of their awesomeness. Mom and Dad took Sky for ice cream after ballet and JT and I went to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. We get home and Sky is giving Mom a massage! She was being such an angel. My most favorite part of the night was when Skylar came downstairs and said Mommy I have to tell a secret so Boshi and Pop Pop(my parents) can not hear. I said "okay baby, what is it?" Sky whispered, "Is it okay if I sleep with Boshi and Pop Pop?." I said "well sure baby, did you ask them of it is okay?" She said hold on let me go check with Bosh. Then hollers down the stairs, "Boshi said its okay Mommy!" It was so precious and sweet that she wanted to sleep with them. She misses them! When we lived in the Southaven house we saw them everyday almost! It was awesome! After we moved into the new house my parents would stay at the Southaven house instead of with us. Well now that the other house is almost on the market they have no choice but to stay here again! Skylar, JT and myself loved having them stay with us and clearly Sky has missed the mess out of them! So thankful to have such amazing parents and sister that my child adores so much!

Oh Happy Day!

Aliases and Goodbyes

Today I called the company that I used to have my car loan through and he asked my name, which the name on the account is actually my maiden name. He then asked my address, I was like well I am not sure...not sure which one y'all have on file. So I start rolling off a couple then finally get the right one. I am sure he thought I was crazy because I do not even know my address. I actually run into this problem a lot. I have moved so many times and have had three last names, so it is hard to keep track of what name is on what and what address the have on file. At least I give people a little laugh not knowing my identity. Since I have moved out of my parents house, at the age of 18, I have had 8 different addresses! Five apartments and three houses. I mean that is 8 places in almost 10 years! That is nuts just thinking about that. So yes, I would say it is a little hard to keep up.

These past couple of months of being married have been so wonderful! After the rough year we had last year we have finally had some good things happen to us lately. Jonathan started his new job, I finally got my new car, closed on our house, got all moved in, I got to start working a lot less at work and things are finally starting to flow smoothly. Coming into some bittersweet moments also. We have almost unpacked everything FINALLY. Upon doing that, I have found lots of memories that were from the past, some good and some not so good. When I moved into my house after getting divorced I moved in like two days so stuff and junk was just thrown everywhere. I am paying for that now. I never really went trough and sorted stuff out last time like I should have so this past move I have discovered how much crap I really have. I have thrown away a lot of stuff! And giving a lot to Goodwill also. It feels good to de-clutter and organize. Which means the old house is ready to be put on the market. While my parents and I were over there cleaning this past weekend we all got a little sad. That was such a great house and a lot of special memories were made there. Will be sad when it's gone. And I am also saying goodbye to my 4Runner! That car was my baby and the best car I have ever had. That was the first car I had ever bought myself and paid the whole thing off myself. Never had any problems with that car at all! Got her all cleaned up and ready for her new home this week. Sad to see it go but glad it is to someone I know and know will take care of it. So here is to NEW CHAPTERS in our lives!
